Fonera N

Today we made some tests at Fon with a 802.11n router, the new WiFi standard, and it definitely has much more range than 802.11g. In this video you will get to see the router I have installed in my office. It is not a Fonera N yet, but a D Link router. We will have a Fonera N by next year. But already with the current foneras coupled with the Fontennas that we are launching in 2 weeks the range will increase 10 times.

Hello.
I am thinking about buying a Fonera+; then I come across this blog post. My question is: Should I wait until the new Fonera N to come out or just go for the current one.
I see the Fonera as a long-term investment (I don’t have a wireless router yet) and would like to know if WiFi 802.11n will work properly with the current WiFi adpater.

A fonera with a fontenna will go further than a fonera N which in any case is now set to be launched in April

I am quite confused now. On the spanish blog (https://spanish.martinvarsavsky.net/general/fonera-n.html) and in the video, it says that a Fonera with a Fontena can reach 200-300m; whereas the Fonera N can reach 1km (in the video: going past the highway)…

The speed conection is jumping (or maybe the correct word is climbing? I must improve my english 😛 ) every day, but my question is: is not better to saty with a single standard two or more years and improve in laboratories the other standards to make only a giant step when people change his routers/access points? I think (and I know) lots of people are saying that technology is going too fast for them, and they are obliged to buy another device one or two years after the one they have because this one is obsolete, and they say “only one year!!!”.
I think we must search a good balance between two factors: technical advance and people economy.
