Lately, there seems to be no limit to what technology can do to strip content of advertising or payment. In Spain we already had an unusual legal situation, because downloading movies, TV series and songs for personal use is not a crime. But with Alluc, who needs downloading?

Downloading is time consuming and much more expensive than what people think cause it takes up a lot of hard drive space. Twelve year olds know this, and they just stream their content on demand. Video on demand was in the plans of the large telcos for 15 years, but now it is the most unlikely players who are delivering it.

Now if anyone knows what I can say to a 12 year old not to do this, please let me know. In the meantime we are rapidly moving into a world of expanding audiences and shrinking revenues for content makers. The only solution I see is partially what is being done already which is to turn movies into one big infomercial frequently featuring products are part of the content.
