{"id":253,"date":"2006-03-10T17:23:44","date_gmt":"2006-03-10T15:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.1.2\/en\/?p=253"},"modified":"2006-03-10T17:23:44","modified_gmt":"2006-03-10T15:23:44","slug":"safe-democracy-11m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/english.martinvarsavsky.net\/?p=253","title":{"rendered":"Safe Democracy and 11M\u2019s Second Anniversary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2005, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.safe-democracy.org\">Safe Democracy<\/a> Foundation, which I manage and together with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clubmadrid.org\/cmadrid\/index.php?id=1\">Club de Madrid<\/a>, organized the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security at the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid, Spain. <\/p>\n<p>The results of this Summit can be found in our blog. For the second anniversary, we have decided to transform the contents of last year\u2019s Summit &#8211; the materials are mainly focused on how democracies can efficiently combat terrorism without losing their democratic spirit &#8211; into a blog.   <\/p>\n<p>During the past few days, very interesting people have collaborated with us and published articles in the blog. I would like to invite all of you to read them. Some of these people include <a href=\"http:\/\/english.safe-democracy.org\/home\/reconsidering-the-war-on-terror.html\">George Soros<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/english.safe-democracy.org\/home\/the-palestinian-political-earthquake-a-suggestion-for-breakthrough-.html\">Walid Salem<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/english.safe-democracy.org\/home\/who-is-knocking-at-the-door-of-democracy.html\">Giandomenico Picco<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/spanish.safe-democracy.org\/portada\/espaaa-y-naciones-unidas-cincuenta-aaos-despuas.html\">Javier Rup\u00e9rez<\/a> and others.
