New features for PSP and PS3, by my son Tom
In this video, my 12 year old son Tom shows how the PSP and the PS3 work together. The PSP is in a way like a Slingbox of the PS3. With a PSP you can control the downloads of the PS3 and you can also see movies and games of the PS3 in the PSP. All through WiFi. At Fon we are working on similar projects. We are working on people being able to manage all their heavy uploading and downloading directly from the Internet into their Fonera with a removable hard drive and without using their laptops. Another thing that I learned is that the term wardriving (which means looking for wifi signal on the streets) has a literal meaning in Tom´s game. Tom likes to go around Madrid in the car because he gets an extra soldier for his army for every WiFi network that his PSP detects. Now that´s wardriving!

that’s nice
so the Fon 2202 will have a webbased P2P managment interface…
Currently I use my NSLU2 (has 2 usb ports where I can connect multiple harddisks, printers, …) for it…
(emule has a webengine built in)
perhaps also nice to look at:
http://www.twonkyvision.com/Products/TwonkyMedia/index.html
So people can combine the LAN/Wireless interface of the fonera with their MediaCenter located at their tv to watch the movies/pictures/music located on their fonera fileserver…
http://www.orb.com would be also nice…But it does realtime transcoding (a pda doesn’t have such high resolutions so why send large streams if only a small portion can be displayed…) it also shows word documents, TV tuner, …
so someone that is currently remotely connected to a fonpoint could watch television as if at home …

For Tom and all other PSP people out there (like my FON neighbour accross the street)
Could you create a PSP-FON client like you have made for the Nokia Phone????
currently PSP people have to downgrade the FON to WEP because PSP WPA and FON WPA are not compatible
or they have to use the browser and 4 keys to get their emailadres & password typed in…

That’s superb! Thanks Tom for the demo. Have you guys tried running the PS3 as a bweb browser, with a USB keyboard plugged into it?
Now what Sony need to do is embed a PSP chip into a wifi phone (because I think the PSP menu system is too multi-layered), and reduce the price of the PS3…
