The death of the 360?
My son Tom posted a comment on Gamespot that got a great deal of attention. In this video, as we walk around Times Square we discuss if the 360 will die or not and Tom compares the 360 to the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. At one moment we come close to being drafted by the US Army.

Man, I wish I was walking around Time Square (now) and had an Xbox (when I was 14 I only had a SNES).

Very interesting, I personally think the console in general will die in 5+ years
Keep the videos coming

>> I personally think the console in general will die in 5+ years
well, yeah. 5 years is about the lifespan for a games console (has been for the past 20 years). but i personally don’t think storage space has much to do with that, although the original PS was successful mostly due to it’s inclusion of the larger capacity cd drive. but from what i’ve heard the extra capacity of the PS3’s BD is mostly being used to store extra FMV and video sequences, not to produce better gameplay / games.
as long as you can fit a decent game on a dvd or two, devs will to continue doing so, and until technology moves on enough to allow much better graphics to be displayed (and therefore needing more space to store graphics on a disc) then i can’t see developers moving from the 360 to a different console, they’ll just stay with whoever has the largest user base, which’ll be determined by price and game quality. see ps2 / wii.
and like tom said, the user is stupid. 3 disc game > 1 disc game, especially if you don’t know the difference between BD / DVD / HD.

Well Nelson,
It´s kind of complicated. Tom´s parents are divorced, he does not have a PS3 at his Mom´s house, but I guess you have a point.

I don’t think “soft power”, understood as improving living conditions, works either when fighting terrorism. ETA has been around for almost 40 years now in Spain’s richest region, despite a bunch of concessions for self-rule by the Spanish government. Ultimately, the only way to confront someone who has been brainwashed to kill and maim your loved ones is hard power. Had I been an American citizen, I would have joined the US Army on the spot.
