Thanks for the article - it clearly explains quite a complicated issue. I have found the ski property investment market has been hit heavily by the credit crunch. At least now, I have a clearer understanding why!

Interesting, acojona, but its very interesting.

I think the subprime ( we call it segun in Spanish ) is just the top of the iceberg.

In my opinion is very dangerous the web of founds, stock, syndicated credits, bonds and other financial vehicles that are backed up among each other… Probably we will discover soon that the problem is not that 30% of the mortgages are crap, that the problem is that the ratio of real money or value VS the labyrinth of different financial vehicles is very low, and that can lead to a domino fall…

And from the human point of view it’s sad for me, that I’m 33 and Spanish, to see that most of the people of my generation just plan how are they going to build their debt and how are they going to pay it in the future. Very few people think about how they are going to build wealth.

They just get all the debt that the bank offers them with happiness and buy a house, bringing a massive percentage of their income to today and dragging money from their day to day future. Most of them will never know what financial freedom is..

Saludos:

Excellent explanation on the dynamics, yet somewhat anecdotical, not? As if the Northwestern hemisphere is isolated from the rest of the world; actually we're mere puppets in the global picture.
