Unfortunatelly, as it is often with such offers, it's limited geographically...to the point that title of your article, Martin, isn't corret; not only whole Europe isn't covered by this offer...not even whole EU.

BTW, when it comes to voice quality...it seems it also depends on region. Here SkypeOut calls have frequently very poor quality (though that does not depend on Skype entirely...). And when it comes to using voicecalls in PCPC calls, I've found that Gtalk often has better quality: Skype and Gtalk are basically on par when conditions/network connections are good...but if that's not the case, Gtalk wins.

Sorry, I used Skype most for Skype2Skype calls. First I was using using Skype as beta tester and beginning with v 1.0 it uses more and more resources (CPU time) so I will stop using Skype. With various SIP providers I get better conditions than Skype offer.

Thomas,

I see your point and I hope I did not offend you by calling the plan flat. What I like about Skype is the quality of the voice which still beats SIP, the video, the chat and especially that most of my friends are on it so most of the times I don´t pay. Other services may be occasionally cheaper but on the average I save more on Skype and have a better experience.

Martin,

How dare they call that plan "flat"? That is a joke right?

After using Skype for more than 2 years, I have now deleted it from my computers. To me Skype is dead. There are plenty of "skypeout"-like cheaper alternatives out there. Skype was good for voice, that is what is was good for, now they have ripped off their customers.

Freechelmi

Skype for me it´s only partly about phone calls. Skype is a community of people I communicate with using voice, video and chat, many times chat.

Martin, Connection fees make SkypeOut really bad for short calls

little copare in France :

- You have a DSL line : SIP VOIP unlimited with your Wifi phones for free.

- You don't have a DSL line : you take a SIP provider such as http://www.kiwak.net that gives you unlimited on landlines for free and you use your Wifi phone...

and obviously you can call your sip contacts for free ..

But that's true , if you are addicted to skype , 2 Euros/months is really cheap !

What was their unlimited plan before ?

Hi Martin, you probably know that the phone had problems connecting to FON_hotspots, the problems
were related to bad firmware, what's the current situation ? firmware updated ?

They fixed the problem on the units currently sold or not ?

One thing that's preventing me to buy that phone is the absence of browsing software.
I hope that they release the next wifi cheap phones with good browsing software for mobile like
http://www.operamini.com ;)

best regards
