Sounds great that Jose Ignacio and Punta del Este are showing as niche-targeted. I know that many things changed there in the last 10 years. A friend of mine just built a Home one block away from the FARO and the local police (prefectura) was building a 3-story home just in fron of my friend’s house.

When new people from out-of-town arrive to Jose Ignacio, things do not happend in a positive way. I believe it is very difficult to stop this affluency of rich & famous…you should see how Laguna Garzón is also growing so fast!

Enjoy my beautiful country!!! I was in Jose Ignacio the last days of December and assisted to the Lacoste party at La Huella. What a great place!

Recuerdo que hace un año, cuando se discutía este tema, un conocido veraneante de José Ignacio, ingeniero petrolero, también millonario (y no precisamente de River Plate), decía que era inevitable, que pronto el Pueblo sería la nueva Barra, y que tendría que seguir con su éxodo hacia el Este del Uruguay.

Afirma él, que lo más importante de todo lo que tienen nuestras costas uruguayas, es la gente, la que vive y la que descansa en ella.
