In my very personal opinion, I am glad Saddam Hussein is gone. Even though the entire war on Iraq might not have come for the "right" reasons, it sparked development into a promising future.

And even though there are constantly casulties, war and terror, believe it or not, a lot of Iraqis value their new freedom. Of course many are not happy with the situation, but would they go back to Saddam? Certainly not.
From personal contacts (through Family), I know that life in general is more normal (if you can measure in those terms), than life 8 years ago with Saddam Hussein.

You always have to remember that even though you did not here much or anything about Iraq on the news back then, the terror still existed. Maybe not as visual and graphic.

Iraq, so close, so far.

In my modest opinion:

Naively that operation was conceived by the American administration as a far more simple process. Thus, investments came at their appointment, expecting fairly good rates, missregarding how risky and complicate could become the operation. Once in, facing the risk of collapse, supporting the so called "national interests", investments will keep on trying to resolve this conflict according to their interests.

To stop this cycle of death and violence we should find how to guarantee the benefits of investments in some way. A sort of agreement for "peace" where all the actors involved in will receive commitments for their benefits.

I'm all for an open dialogue between all confronted forces, no one deserves to be excluded from this process.

It's completely unnecessary to be constrained by fullfiling tactical requisites. Peace can be constructed step by step, returning the drivewheel to the Iraqui people.

Best whishes,

People of America shall rise and stop "Pile of dead bodies and lies".
