I see that google are planning to offer a gmail uploader as part of their premier edition.

<a href="http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/admins/editions.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/admins/editions.html</a>

This seems like a strategic oversight for Google - if they're going to have an importer at all, they should be aiming to use it to get as many people as possible on board gmail.

A gmail exporter might be a different matter though ;-)

One more comment: Two people is not a lot for the number of tools you're releasing. I think it is very important that everything Fon releases is of very high quality and very "polished" (polished not meaning flashy, but finished in great detail).

Hi Martin,

Excellent strategy. Two comments:

1. To me, Fon is all about unused individual resources useful to the community. These resources now focus on bandwidth, but maybe also be storage, computing power, time, etc. So it would be great if the FonTools could be focused around this.

2. Be sure to check out Adobe Flex and Apollo. Apollo lets you develop very rich, nice applications that work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Flex is available today, Apollo is a few months away. Flex and Apollo are the perfect platform for Fon.

My best wishes to your whole team,

- Mike

I keep tuned :-)

"But FON Madrid has 40 engineers working on a set of improvements that we will launch in June and July and will make FON much more useful and effective as a platform. Stay tuned."

Hi Martin,

I think the critisism is unwarrented, these extra tools provide great 'value add' whether you're a fon user of not, looks like a no brainer in terms of cost/benefit analysis....

keep up the good work ;)
