Accton has great designers. Look at this WiFi phone. FON will bundle this phone with our Fonera box and we will sell it in two versions: the Skype version (provided that Skype authorizes its sale) and the SIP version, which is ready. I had a chance to play with it when I was in Taipei and I loved it!

This is the year in which Europe will either fall apart or emerged stronger. I give it 75% that it emerges as a stronger union but the risk of collapse is still there. Germany has the key to solve the problem because of the size of its economy, its saving rate and its export volume. Germany has to decide on whether it continues to transfer some of its wealth in order to create markets for its exports or it let’s Europe fall apart and ends up with an overvalued currency and deteriorated markets. Already today it started paying negative interest rates which is a prelude in my view to a huge rise in the DM should it be born again. Tough choice. I think Germany can actually both save Europe and make money by buying underpriced Italian and Spanish bonds and selling them after stabilization. It can do what the FED did with many financial institutions, make a profit by providing much needed liquidity at a critical time.

Nice design, would look nice beside my ibook (same white/grey). Maybe it’s a good idea to becoma a mvno Martin and offer a cheap wifi/gsm set?

The minimalist and clean design is very nice! But apparently a lot of the front surface is wasted, that could be used for bigger keys or a larger display. Will non-Asian fingers be able to hit those keys precisely?

After giving some more thought about the WLAN-phone, I believe that carrying around another phone when leaving home isn’t worth at current hotspot density. If the phone had an integrated mp3-player, like the AVM Mini (http://www.avm.de/en/press/announcements/2006/2006_03_09_04.php3), it would be much more useful and we could even have live streaming where WLAN is available.
Further I wonder if it supports WPA-encryption.

any idea when these will roll out? and many people arent hooked on skaype so 2 versions is a good idea.
