100,000 registered Foneros and 100K Foneras Ordered
Tonight we registered the 100,000 fonero. We also ordered 100K foneras to be manufactured so we can clear the backlog that we have of registered but not yet active foneros. We only place the first large order this week because until this week we were still sorting out bugs on the first 10K shipment we got. They were not very important but we could not until now place large orders. We estimate that between now and the end of February we will place these 100K foneras. Again for comparison purposes T Mobile the largest wifi network in the world until we came around has around 25K public access points. In the last 24 hours alone we placed 800 access points.

Congratulations on the 100K foneras Martin. Please tell us that these 100K foneras will include some basic router functionality like port forwarding and wired LAN support through a switch! Then you have a real winner.

Knadisson this is the eternal debate many more people who want to be foneros than people who actually are. And yes until January we will continue having a backlog of foneras, we send them as fast as we get them. But we are making 100K til then and 200K after then and then those organge points will become green and we will start marketing together with our partners and grow even faster.

Thomas, even better than that, we not only want to add new features for new Foneras but we want to make sure the new features are programmed as patches so current Foneros are also able to add those new features to their already purchased Foneras. We want to make the Foneras “alive” and as “customizable” as possible.

Do you know that the largest public WiFi network is Free (french Internet provider, remeber your Nokia E41) with 300k public access points all in France, but until now nobody has a phone to use the network, the first phones must be delivered this week.
Why did you make a partnership with Neuf, they don’t share your business model, Neuf is a “Bill”, Free is a”Linus” like you ?

Dear Martin, If you include the option for shipping to BRAZIL, by the USPS(U$10.00 – U$15.00) it would go to increase the users here in the Brazil.

What are the bugs mentioned in your posting ? I received a La fonera last week and my private SSID keeps on dropping (the public one isn’t all that constant).

the main bug we have is not that the SSIDs drop, when that happens it tends to be because we program the foneras not to show then when the ISP is not delivering internet signal. The main bug relates to MACs with Intel chips but that is not our bug and Apple is working on it.
