Laptop user arrested for ‘illegal log-on’ to house wi-fi
In the UK is illegal to use ‘stolen’ wireless connection from your neighbours (I don’t know if this is the same in the US, or the rest of EU). The worst, is that the police is actively seeking for offenders. How a service as FON could be deployed in such conditions? I can imagine that the “offender” should be able to demonstrate police officers that the connection is not illegal, it’s shared. Perhaps giving them a FON card that can be showed to police officers to avoid the arrest in first place.

Cheers.
